Mind In Motion

HDN Music, Germany 1990

Any casual HDN Music observer is aware of how the label recycles and reuses existing songs. Fake Reggae is another example of this. It appears as a B side to Matt Bondi's When Love Breaks Down, which is, of course, the vocal mix of Cook's Bar Room Girl. Since both Bondi and Mind In Motion were released in 1990, I don't know which is the original. Judging by catalog number, Mind In Motion would be the first version of Fake Reggae.

No one would confuse this with reggae. The fretless bass is driving things forward with the help of some very tasteful keys and a sprawling guitar keeps you guessing. To me, the A side is unlistenable German-talo.

The vinyl is graded as Very Good Plus and the sleeve is Generic. Images and audio clips are from the copy for sale.
