God Gave Me You 12"

Rev. Al Noble & Vanez Davis

In Clover Records, US 1987

"Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh.." The Good Reverend and vocalist Vanez Davis released this 12" in 1987 under the In Clover Records umbrella. You get the title track and an instrumental too. Someone named "David Canada" is credited as the guitarist. The lyrics are a reverential toast between two lovers and their God. It not mournful (obviously) and not party music either, just the kind of feeling a gospel can create.

Of course, if you listen to the vocal played at forty-five like the label suggests you'll realize that is a misprint and the record was pressed to play at thirty-three rpms. Obvious with the vocal, but the instrumental is much more versatile. Both speeds sound great, especially the high-pitch vocal repetitions when played fast.

The vinyl plays great and the sleeve is generic. All clips are directly from the copy for sale.
